Bangkok's large hospitals get most of the attention, but much everyday care happens in smaller specialist clinics. Before you book anywhere, read our guide to checking a clinic.

Types of clinic

Physiotherapy clinics treat back, neck and joint pain, sports injuries and office syndrome, and are staffed by licensed physical therapists. Neurology and headache clinics are usually run by a neurologist, sometimes within a hospital outpatient department. Aesthetic clinics offer injectables, skin treatments and, in clinics licensed for it, minor surgery. The licence checks are the same for all of them.
